When a career moves as quick as PANIA’s has, a year of reflection to tame the whirlwind of success seems imminent. “I really wanted to stop for a moment and process all of these emotions,” she says of 2024, “I’ve had a really busy two years. Everything was moving so fast.”
Since the West Melbourners quick rise from 2021 with her debut single ‘ICCY’, PANIA’s profile has been ever-growing. Yet aside from her accomplishments, the doors have also been opened to the pitfalls of being an introvert in the public and private eye, “I feel like there's been a lot of things said, or misconceptions of the way people perceive me, but I've never really been one to go online or publicly say things. So, I'm like, ‘let me just say it all in the music.'
Sitting at the forefront of Australia’s R&B wave, PANIA’s music has helped push boundaries for a new generation of artists looking to create change on Southern shores notably achieving titles like One To Watch by Rolling Stone and Vogue in 2023. That same year and in 2024 she was nominated for Best Soul/ R&B Release for her EP’s ‘P STANDS 4 PLAYA’ and ‘We Still Young’ and has also garnered international coverage from the likes of GUAP Magazine, Colors and New Wave Magazine, with the buzz from her releases landing her on a New York City Times Square billboard as the Spotify Equal AU Ambassador. But the opportunities kept coming, first as a keynote speaker at Australian Fashion week in 2024 and as the face of various campaigns including Converse and a Nike x Foot Locker collaboration.
In 2026, PANIA carries her desire to continue to achieve growth and bring the listener on a journey, “Honestly, I just want people…I just want the world to hear the music and really resonate with it. That's the main thing,” she says, “And I feel that when the world resonates with the music, it'll take me to places that I’ve always dreamed of.”
