River Sounds is turning up the volume in 2026 with a major expansion that will see the beloved Bellingen event run across two huge days of music, culture and community. What began as a grassroots celebration of contemporary Australian sounds has grown into one of Regional NSW's most anticipated music festivals.
The event kicks off on Friday May 15 with an Opening Night presented by Great Southern Nights. Headlining is electronic powerhouse Touch Sensitive performing live with a full band, joined by legendary ’90s alt-rock trailblazers Magic Dirt, rising Sydney outfit Good Pash, genre-blending newcomers Blind Pretty, plus local bands and DJs showcasing the region’s thriving scene.
The momentum continues on Saturday May 16, with an eclectic program across four stages at the picturesque Bellingen Showground. Headliners include hip-hop favourites Thundamentals, psychedelic standouts Babe Rainbow, UK trio Kitty, Daisy & Lewis, pioneering funk legends Skunkhour, and party-starting electronic artist Little Fritter, alongside dozens more acts spanning indie, hip-hop, roots and electronic sounds.
