WHAT DOES OUR DUBBO LIVE FEST LINE UP SHARE?

The artists on the Dubbo Live Fest bill share a few things. Firstly, they are Australian music royalty, having released between them over 65 studio albums.

They also have their fair share of ARIA awards, ARIA nominations and ARIA Hall of Fame inductions.

But there’s something else they share. Every artist on the bill has at least one song with a title that refers to the human body.

Starting with Paul Kelly, we have All Those Smiling Faces. Missy Higgins, of course, with her huge hit Scar. The Cat Empire has spilled some Blood on the Stage, whilst The Cruel Sea is guilty of some Reckless Eyeballin’. Kasey Chambers has Rattling Bones and Jess Hitchcock regularly joins Paul Kelly on stage to sing Everyday My Mother’s Voice.

Australian music royalty Paul Kelly recently celebrated his 70th birthday with new music to match - his 30th album Seventy. The album features a stack of soon to be classics, including  “Rita Wrote A Letter”, a sequel to our country’s soundtrack to Christmas, “How To Make Gravy”. Heralded as one of Australia’s greatest songwriters, Paul Kelly’s half-century career includes tracks like “Before Too Long”, “Dumb Things” and “To Her Door”.

Celebrating two decades since her remarkable debut, Missy Higgins remains one of Australia’s most influential songwriters. Landing on the scene in 2004 with The Sound of White, Higgins’ platinum selling catalogue of hits including “Scar”, “Ten Days”,  “Where I Stood” and more, has seen her earn multiple ARIA awards and sell out venues across the country. A stage presence like no other, she continues to captivate audiences with her powerful live performances and compelling storytelling.

The icon status continues with multiple ARIA award winners The Cruel Sea, led by formidable frontman Tex Perkins and their back catalogue of songs from the late 80’s including “The Honeymoon Is Over” to tracks from their 2025 release Straight Into The Sun. Attendees will be able to say “Hello, Hello” to The Cat Empire and relish in their infectious tunes and smile-inducing energy.

Country legend Kasey Chambers, who burst onto the scene in 1999 and took Australia by storm with The Captain will bring a plethora of hits to Dubbo, with fan favourites “Not Pretty Enough”, “Rattlin’ Bones” and more set to enchant patrons. Comparatively new on the scene, Jess Hitchcock’s music encompasses multiple genres - soaring soul, contemporary pop, even opera and offers emotional storytelling, delivered with a voice that stops you in your tracks.
